Audirvāna reads the metadata of your tracks and the covers linked to them. Audirvāna will not try to get them from the Internet.

Note: if you use Audirvāna Studio with a streaming service, we retrieve the missing cover when you open the album but not add the cover to your tracks

If the artwork is not showing up for your albums, there are two potential reasons:

1. Your album's metadata does not include artwork.
2. The artwork is stored in the iTunes database instead of the track files.

Adding artwork to your album

You have two ways to do so:

  • You get the artwork from an internet search and add it to your album with Audirvāna metadata editor. Please read this article to know more about it.
  • You use an external metadata editor to add artwork to your tracks automatically. Tools like MusicBrainz Picard, Mp3tag, or Yate can search for artwork for your track and directly add it to it. Once you have saved the change to your tracks, you may need to reset Audirvāna to see the change in the software.

iTunes stores your artwork

In such cases, the covers are stored in iTunes' proprietary database instead of being recorded in the audio file metadata as they should be according to current standards.

You can then sync the iTunes library if you are on macOS or add the artwork to your tracks, as described earlier in the article.
