Check the connection to your device
In case your issue is not solved after applying the above steps, make sure you check the below procedure before contacting us:
Step 1: Check if your device is up to date
I want you to know that many device updates help tackle connectivity issues; please always use your device's latest firmware version.
Step 2: Refresh the list of UPNP devices available for Audirvāna
Please click on the spinning arrows in the output menu to make sure Audirvāna can see your device:
Step 3: Make sure your computer and device are on the same network
Les réseaux 2,4 Ghz et 5 Ghz peuvent causer des problèmes sur certains routeurs, alors vous devriez essayer de désactiver l'un ou l'autre pour voir si vous avez toujours un problème pour sélectionner votre appareil. More about it on our community forum.
Step 4: Check your network interface to see If Wi-Fi and Ethernet are available.
If you have multiple network interfaces (e.g., Wi-Fi and Ethernet), please switch between one to the other to ensure your device can be reached.
Step 5: Get logs from Audirvāna
The logs of Audirvāna are the best way to understand what is going on when any of the above troubleshooting steps you made in this article work.
To activate logs:
Once you click 'Stop Log Session', click 'Open Log folder' and send us the audirvana_studio.log or audirvana_origin.log file as an attachment to your ticket, which you can open using the link below.
Note: if the above steps didn't worked, please create a ticket and send us your log file.
Possible issues encountered
Device not detected
Audirvāna detects any device available as an audio output. Ensure your device is powered on when you want to select it or when Audirvāna is opened.
When a UPNP device is used with Audirvāna, the software encapsulates your tracks in a WAV file. If your device doesn't state that it supports WAV, the software won't display the device as an audio output in Audirvāna.
DSD playback doesn't work
When playing to a UPNP device capable of supporting DSD with Audirvāna, the device must state it supports DFF. This information is available once your device is selected as an audio output in Audirvāna and going on the debug info. You can get it in Audirvana Settings>My account.
- If you see this line: http-get:*:audio/dff:* under the section UPnP / DLNA supported protocols, your device supports DFF over UPNP.
Time out to play to the device
Audirvāna tries multiple times to send audio to the device you selected; this means the software cannot reach it, or something is blocking the data sent to it.
You then need to check your firewall to see if Audirvāna is correctly set:
- Pour macOS:
Playback doesn't start
If you get an error message stating "Unable to Start playback" or a PCM error, your device states it supports RAW PCM stream but doesn't.
To avoid this issue:
- Go into your audio output settings and click on the steering wheel next to your device name:
- Enable this option:
- Try again to play your track
Interruptions during playback
In case your playback is not stable and you get interruptions during playback or tracks that do not go to the next track, there are settings to enable in Audirvāna settings:
- Go into your audio output settings and click on the steering wheel next to your device name:
- Enable this option:
- Try again to play your track
Note: if you still ahve issue after doing this, please reastert your router or try usngin ethernet connection if you use WiFi wiht your device.
Silence or noise between tracks (no gapless)
You may hear a brief silence or noise when transitioning to your album's next track or playlist. This means your device has a gapless issue with WAV or DFF playback, whether it states it supports it (or not).
To avoid this issue:
- Go into your audio output settings and click on the steering wheel next to your device name:
- Enable this option:
- Try again to play your track
Note: if the above steps didn't worked, please create a ticket and send us your log file.
